Scott Schwinger
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Scott Schwinger is Managing Director at Ascension Capital.
For nearly thirty years, Scott held positions with various companies of the late Bob McNair. He served as vice president of the power company Cogen Technologies, senior vice president of Palmetto Partners, and senior vice president and CFO of The Houston Texans. He also served as president of the investment company McNair Interests, as well as president of the family trust company.
At McNair Interests, Scott was responsible for the management of all McNair Interests companies which included large portfolios of public and private investments and various operating companies. His duties included investment management, deal structuring and negotiation, financial reporting, treasury, risk management, debt and equity financings, tax planning, philanthropic, estate and succession planning.
Scott provided the financial analysis support beginning in 1998 to bring professional football back to Houston. He successfully coordinated and structured all the debt financings of the team, one of the largest and most successful series of financings at that time for a professional sports team.
Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. In the community, he serves as an Advisory Board member for The Make-A-Wish Foundation, and on the boards of Nine Energy Service and the Congaree Foundation.
Scott and his wife, Becca, both native Houstonians, have two sons, Corbin and Charley, and a daughter, Cara. Scott enjoys being with friends, family time, golf and hunting.
